WaveSafe’s system uses a state-of-the-art sway analysis software, which communicates with existing dockside systems through radio and satellite channels to receive and analyze data such as port-traffic, maritime routes, and reporting from meteorological stations. The software also receives input from its Aquadopper sensors and cameras to provide real-time insights into sea conditions, wave dynamics, tidal patterns, and vessel specifications at multiple points in the ship’s movement to calculate comprehensive data of the magnitude and direction of forces acting on the vessel throughout its journey. Using machine learning algorithms, the software continuously optimizes its analysis of imaging and metrics, producing increasingly accurate calculations to enhance the ship birthing process.
Complementing the software are WaveSafe’s intelligent control mechanisms, which directly interface with a ship’s central control system to autopilot the vessel. It includes a laser rangefinder that precisely measures the real-time distance from the port or dock to better guide the ship during berthing. These mechanisms dynamically adjust ship speed, power, acceleration, and displacement based on data from the software, ensuring precise maneuvering tailored to each vessel’s unique characteristics. The ship’s operator may also opt to manually conduct berthing, and use the data from the software for guidance.
It includes a laser rangefinder feature that precisely measures the real-time distance from the port or dock to better guide the ship during berthing. Additionally, WaveSafe provides the option for manual control by the ship’s operator, who can utilize the data and insights from the software to make informed decisions during berthing procedures.
WaveSafe’s Aquadopper underwater sensors are strategically positioned underwater on the ship’s hull. These sensors detect wave shape and turbulence levels up to a distance of 50 meters, and relay this data to the software for processing. Supported by cameras installed at both ends of the ship’s length, the sensors provide real-time imaging to enhance situational awareness. Additional sensors can be strategically added to accommodate larger vessels, ensuring 360-degree monitoring capabilities.
